Dec. 30th, 2019 09:50 pmOh, I forgot to comment one more thing about my trip to the movies- I usually love trailers, but 30 minutes of trailers with a fucking CAR COMMERCIAL in the middle of them... Even the ads have ads!! I don't know why but I just couldn't take seeing so many ads today. Plus, none of the films looked interesting- not even TENET, which I'm going to see out of my obligation to Christopher Nolan, but what little I understood of the premise seemed uninteresting, plus it looks like his most mainstream film since the Batman series and I am not here for that. Weird, convoluted, borderline indie Nolan is best Nolan. I really hope Robert Pattinson plays the villain in the movie, because he looks like a typical Nolan protagonist (white guy in a nice suit with his hair slicked back), so it would be cool to build the audience's expectation of him being on the good side and then turn the tables. Also, I can't help but wonder if the teaser trailer's tagline about needing a "new protagonist" refers to the fact that this is the first time in a Christopher Nolan movie that the protagonist is not a white guy in a nice suit with his hair slicked back. Instead, it's John David Washington, which is more incentive for me to watch the movie because I loved him in BlacKKKlansmen (and I gotta admit, he is quite attractive to me, though I don't know if that's him or just the role he played).
