This... this is just... Ahem. THIS IS THE WORST BIOPIC I HAVE EVER SEEN. Fortunately, it's not like The Beach Boys: An American Family, where they tried so hard to make it good but it just crashed and burned. Fortunately, it's so terrible it's laughable and makes for an entertaining experience. But still... GOD, this is bad. That's what you get when you try to cram 22 years into an hour and a half. Also, I think it's hysterical that this is a band with BRIAN WILSON, the certified musical genius, in it... and the focus is mainly on his brother Dennis. It is kind of nice that Dennis' story got (very inaccurately) told, but I would have preferred to see every single member receive equal time. Al didn't even get more than two lines, for crying out loud!
Honestly, I mostly just watched this for six immortal words: "You're out of the band, buckwheat!" In that respect, it absolutely lived up to my expectations. But if you don't know The Beach Boys whatsoever, just steer clear of this movie, it's not going to be a rewarding experience.
