Ever since I saw Wayne's World I've been heartbroken that the fictional band in it, Crucial Taunt, isn't real, because I fell in love with their sound and their fictional singer- and now I just realized that women singing obscure rock tunes is in fact a real thing so I'm making a playlist full of real bands who fit that description and it makes me happy. (Too bad none of their front-women are Cassandra, though... she's in the same realm as Sara Watkins of "I'm not sure if this is a crush or not because I'm not sure if I'm attracted to women like that but I sure love to look at and listen to her.")

I have also recently discovered that you can make playlists of podcast episodes on Spotify, so I made a playlist of some of Chris Thile's Songs of the Week, specifically the ones that deal with Morse code and the telegraph machine. I'm SO convinced that he's writing a musical about it. Although I still think he should just do a concept album about it with Punch Brothers.

On a final musical note, I just realized that several of my favorite albums from 2019 are breakup albums (Mercury Girls by Lauren Hoffman, Ceiling Mirror by Sammi Lanzetta, Broken Record by Eliza Frances), and they all deal with the subject in very different ways. Also, god 2019 was AMAZING for music. Then again, I haven't been listening to many new releases, even though there have been several new recent releases that interest me- Phoebe Bridgers, Bob Dylan released his first album in years and I feel obligated to listen to it, plus I'm getting into Neil Young and he just released a previously-recorded-but-never-released-util-now album. I've been too busy with my 52 Records project to listen to anything else. The new Goat Rodeo Sessions record came out and I'm so, so in love (although it's not as good as the first one). Also, today I listened to Moses Sumney's album Aromanticism for my project, and though the music itself was not to my taste, THE LYRICS ARE SHEER POETRY and it's awesome to see someone prominently declare themselves to be aromantic, to the point where they make a whole album about it.
