May. 16th, 2020 07:28 pmI think live video kind of spoiled Live from Here listeners, because every time they've streamed the Live from Home episodes, the YouTube chat is always like "where's the video?? Surely they recorded some video!!" and it's like... this is a RADIO SHOW. It's not SUPPOSED to have video in the first place, the video for live shows is just an occasional added bonus. When they tour, they don't even have video most of the time (unless they're at the Fitzgerald Theater in Minnesota), so it's not the end of the world if they don't have video for these shows.
On the plus side, tonight the YouTube chat was joined by Mike Elizondo (musical director of the show), Madison Cunningham (the Queen), Bodine Boling (creative director), Chris Eldridge (Punch Brother and Live from Hero), and Dave Sinko (sound guy for I guess the show and for Punch Brothers). So I'm freaking out. Also a dude in the chat who's close to Chris Thile confirmed that some of the recent Songs of the Week have actually been new Punch Brothers songs, so basically... is my prediction that Punch Brothers' next album will be a concept album about the men who invented the telegraph machine going to come true?
