Two disconnected thoughts

between_time_and_42So, I thought I didn't care for Joanna Newsom's music, but I still can't stop listening to "Only Skin" so. I guess I was wrong. I still think that Van Dyke Parks' arrangements for the album were too overblown though. Anyway, I've been seeing some comments saying they wish they could get into this music, but can't stand her voice, and I keep wanting to say "you act like you've never heard Anais Mitchell!"- except, most likely, they have never heard Anais Mitchell. The point being, I am very much used to women with strange voices at this point and therefore Joanna Newsom does not scare me off. (Just her intense orchestrally-arranged songs do.)
In other news, I'm flipping out because the most prolific writer in the Max Headroom fandom took down all of their work, which means... now the tag is full of good fics again. (Except for maybe mine #selfdeprecation) I'm sorry to fire shots, but... I feel like it was kind of an open secret and now that they're gone, I don't feel ashamed to admit it. (Wait, who am I kidding, I'll probably get paranoid and edit this post a few minutes later so read it while it's hot, y'all)
