between_time_and_42Time for the bi-annual installment of "What has Blue been writing lately, and where can I read it?" Of course, I always post the fics I write in separate posts on this site (and of course, no one checks this site anyway), but what the hell, it's a tradition and I'm going to stick to it.
KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE
Updated: Born Again, 3 chapters added. The plot of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the 1978 remake), but with Kingsman characters replacing Invasion characters. Basically written only to please myself, except now it's not even pleasing myself and I can't manage to write the last two chapters to save my life so I'm seriously toying with the idea of orphaning the work. But hey, at least I wrote three more chapters this year.

INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS
Stay Away: The Story of Mike Timlin. Halfway through his third year at college, journalism student Mike Timlin drops out to pursue his ultimate dream- making it as a folk singer in Greenwich Village. He soon finds a fellow musician to help bring his dream to life, but as the years pass, he begins to struggle with the realization that his feelings for his partner are not entirely professional or platonic. My "swan song" to the Inside Llewyn Davis fandom, as I can't see myself writing any more fics for it after this labor of love.

Tamna Noc. After years of seeking revenge, Niko has finally finished the job. But now he wonders if it was the right thing to do. A short, angsty piece, because that's how I roll.

Dance Along the Edge. The idea of going out with one of her brothers' "business associates" doesn't impress Kate McReary. She already has enough to worry about. But after spending quality time with Niko Bellic, Kate realizes that sometimes she'd rather listen to her heart than her personal ideologies. An exploration/defense of Kate McReary, and an examination of her relationship with Niko. Also my favorite fic that I wrote this year.

BREAKING BAD
An Impossible View. Upon arriving in Haines, Alaska, Jesse Pinkman knows that he can't put things to right. But with the help of his surrounding community, his own determination, and an unexpected canine companion, he sets about making a fresh start. Maybe one day he'll find himself healing, too. A post-script to the film El Camino.

1 Breaking Bad fic, about Badger & Skinny Pete's reaction to Jesse leaving town
2 Barry fics. 1 is a scene rewrite (I guess it's called that?) of the moment right before Barry steps onstage in S1E7 (if you've seen it you know what I'm talking about; if you haven't, it's the one I gushed over several posts ago), and the other is about Barry being invited to and attending Chris Lucado's memorial service, while dealing with the fact that he killed Chris and he's the only one who knows it.
Also the last two chapters of Born Again will be written and posted.... eventually????... because I hate to leave things hanging.
No recommendations this time.
