Say it with me, people: AWWWWWWWWWWWW. <3

I'm so glad they chose the coming out scene to end on. That was such a lovely scene. And the beach scene, which is probably my favorite part of the whole comic (at least, it's the one I had the strongest reaction to, I was like... pounding the table in excitement when I read that the first time), was replicated soooo well. Oh, I love them so much! How adorable they are.

I like that Tao & Elle's relationship was left as a "maybe... maybe not." Of course, I know they will get together in the future, but it's good that they didn't tie everything up in order to leave room for more storylines to explore next season. (I hope there is a next season.)

Charlie almost breaking up with Nick because he felt like he was being a burden to him was heartbreaking. Poor Charlie... I loved his bonding moment with Tori, though. (Also I really hope Solitaire gets an adaptation someday because the actress they chose for her here is a PERFECT Tori. Man, all the casting really was perfect...)

Even though I hate the character, I kind of like that there were more moments with Ben in the last couple episodes, because I did always wonder what happened to him after the whole arc in the initial few comics. I felt like I got more of a sense of closure there in the Netflix series.

Also, I forgot to mention earlier, but I love Mr. Ajayi! He seems like a good influence and a positive role model for Charlie. I'm glad they have that relationship, unlike in the comic where Charlie doesn't really have any teachers at school to whom he's close.

Nick realizing that all his friends suck was another relatable moment. Really, I've found Nick to be a deeply relatable character in this series, more so than I ever did in the comic. And can we talk about what a great actor Kit Connor is? I already mentioned how he resembles Nick in features, but also, his facial acting is amazing. There were a couple moments in the series where he looked devastated about something and I just went OOF. You could tell exactly what he was thinking and feeling just from looking at him.

Oh, also I just looked up the cast list and I knew it!!! I knew I'd heard that voice over the intercom somewhere before :) Was going to say it sounded like the narrator from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

Just like the comic, this series was pure fluff and I ate it up! (I also ate an ice cream cone today, which is purely a result of that milkshake scene in episode 6 :P which is still my favorite episode) I want everyone to watch it!

The beach scene was just ADORABLE. So extremely sweet. Nick shouting "in a romantic way" at the ocean in general is such a memorable moment from the comics, I love that it made into the show.

I saw that you left twitter (good choice. I'm still there only because there are still a couple of people I'm not following anywhere else), so just to let you know that #RENEWHEARTSTOPPER is trending today. I really, really hope we have a season 2.

Episodes 7 and 8 made me feel SO bad for Charlie. Poor boy, his self-esteem is really, really low, and I really want to see him get help for his mental health issues in season 2. And ahhh, a Solitaire adaptation with this actrss portraying Tori would be amazing! She was flawless in the role, and the scene with her comforting Charlie was one of my favorites.

Agreed about Ben, and it was good for Charlie to get that closure as well and be able to tell Ben off and to express that he doesn't get to have an opinion about Charlie. It was a really great moment. Also, about Ben, I love that his actor is the self-appointed president of the Ben Hope Hate Club. xP

Mr. Ajayi was so wonderful. It's great for Charlie to already have an adult good gay role model at 14, and the fact that they can have this positive relationship is another sign of how things ARE changing for the better, that we can see something like this portrayed in a show. :) It was very nice to see that there was an adult there for Charlie at school. (I'm still hoping for Ms. Singh giving Nick a shovel talk in season 2 as well.)

About Nick realizing that all of his friends suck, yeah, tell me about it. In school, when you're forced to interact with a limited group of people every day and there aren't really that many avenues of finding other friendships (though the internet does make that a little better, but still, the pool for IRL friends is limited), it's easy to end up falling in with people who suck and to take a while to realize that. It was a deeply relatable moment.

Also, about Nick, is it just me or was he actually the protagonist of the season? Most episodes ended with the camera on him, he had the biggest self-development/discovery arc, made the most mistakes, etc. I feel like Charlie will get his protagonist status back in season 2, but that for now Nick feels more like the main character than he does.

And yes, omg, Kit Connor. He nearly made me cry so many times. His acting was wonderful.

Stephen Fry as the headmaster was such a nice touch, hahaha.

Yay for ice cream! Episode 6 was so sweet. I'm glad you enjoyed the series! ^^

Yes, if it weren't Netflix I wouldn't be worried at all at this point, tbh. The show has been so successful, it makes no sense not to renew it. But who knows what goes on in TPTB's minds.

Charlie apologising all the time killed me, more so than it did in the comic. Seeing the character be brought to life really drove his struggles home, and I'm looking forward to how season 2 will treat the storyline. I do think it'll be done respectfully. They had queer consultants on the set for season 1, and sensitivity training regarding pronouns, for example, so hopefully for season 2 there'll be similar measures taken regarding mental illness.

I'd LOVE to learn more about Ms. Singh and her wife! Ideally, I'd love a comic with a double date between them and Mr. Ajayi and Mr. Farouk. ^^

Agreed on how difficult it is to make friends after school. Sigh, why is life so hard...
