Apr. 10th, 2022 04:04 pmI just posted last night about how excited I am about my new story, to the point where I wanted to write another spin-off about it. Well, now I want to write ANOTHER spin-off. This all could keep me occupied for a long, long time. (Makes me worry that my other original story might never see the light of day, because it will require a LOT of research and blood, sweat, and tears to be poured into it, and I can’t give it my complete focus if I’m being sidetracked by all these spin-off stories… but I have a long life ahead of me, I hope, so I have plenty of time to work on it eventually.)
I’ll make a list to keep track of all the stories spinning through my head:
-Untitled Novel: A study of how jealousy and fame deteriorates the relationships between three musicians.
A Single Non-Spoilery Line From It:
Making tea was a sufficient distraction, so that Paul was able to forget Peter was in the room at all.
-Untitled Short Story #1 (Nanci & Peter): Gap filler addressing what happened off-page between two crucial scenes in Untitled Novel.
A Single Non-Spoilery Line From It:
“I hope you’ll forgive me for all the unpleasantness this afternoon.”
-Untitled Short Story #2 (Peter & Paul): Paul and Peter go out for an afternoon following Peter’s breakup with his first serious girlfriend.
I haven’t started writing this but here’s a non-spoilery idea I have for a scene: Peter & Paul walking through a park, eating ice cream cones.
-Untitled Short Story #3 (Nanci): Nanci meets up with an old friend during the Love Languages tour.
Scene idea for this story: pillow talk. If I say anything more, it will ruin the story.
Probably going to work on Short Story #1 some more tonight- and I feel like I want to write the next two before I continue with edits on the novel, because it would help me develop the characters even better.
