So I did get to see my dad today! But the whole time, I wanted to talk about Sparks and Annette but I held it in because I felt so self-conscious, even though there were plenty of opportunities I could have taken… he literally mentioned Sparks twice today and I could have used that as a segue into discussing their albums, because as far as he knows, the last time I saw him, I was only just starting to listen to them (I actually had heard most of their albums by that point but he was so excited to play me the first two albums that I didn’t have the heart to burst his bubble), and I also REALLY wanted to know what he thinks about certain albums. But I didn’t want to seem like a raving fangirl because god knows I get WAY too invested into things and I don’t like how obsessive I can be, so I didn’t take the bait and now I’m mad that it’s been two whole months of me just wanting to talk about Sparks with him and now I blew that opportunity. (Of course, it probably won’t be two more months before I see him again, so I can always start that conversation some other time…)

We did listen to two things that I absolutely have to recommend to everyone else in the world, though: “Frankenstein” by Edgar Winter (I think that’s the name/artist?), and “Cat Food” by King Crimson. PLEASE listen to “Cat Food,” it will make your life better.

I also thought of something to get my dad for Christmas that he specifically said he wanted, even though I already got the Annette soundtrack for him, but I am now not sure if he’ll want that so I’m like, seconds away from tearing off the plastic and putting it on my own turntable. Or I could just give him two presents. UGH.

Also, I really want to skip writing for NaNo today and use my first trump card (the one-shot fic I wrote a couple days ago). I just want to spend the rest of the night playing records.
