between_time_and_42What does it say about a certain someone’s lyrical writing that I heard the line “Sisters, an oversupply” in the song “Sisters” by Sparks, and thought it was “Sisters, and office supplies,” and I wasn’t even fazed or thrown off. Like yeah! Sisters and office supplies! Those are two things that go together!
(Honestly, I feel like there are very few things I could learn about Sparks that would surprise me. Like I read about a few very odd things that Russell Mael has done in the past and I had the same reaction that I had to mishearing Ron’s lyrics- “oh yeah, that totally sounds like something he would do.” That being said, I do sometimes low-key worry that they’re secretly horrible people, given how they’re not very open on a personal level and that might mean they’re hiding something, but then I remember that nearly everyone who’s worked with or hung out with them has said that they’re very nice and there’s no way that many people would be invested in preserving their image (ie, lying for them, or also equally horrible people). Besides, I am 100% unsurprised (and not in the “nothing Sparks does can surprise me” way, but in a general way) that they wouldn’t want any personal information to became public knowledge, because as I’ve mentioned in posts before, some fans can be SCARILY invasive (not specifically Sparks fans, I mean fans in general), especially in today’s age, and really everyone who even entertains thoughts of being in the public eye someday should really moderate the information they share with the world, and I really want to point out one specific celebrity as a shining example of how you should never share too much of your life with your fans, but I’m no gossip and besides, we can all think of at least one, can’t we…)
Anyway, speaking of “Sisters”- I guess it’s supposed to be about a guy dating two women who are sisters? Unless it’s about the sisters themselves dating, which I hope not but. Again. That REALLY wouldn’t surprise me.
