I was just typing out a reply to that post and realized I should have added these thoughts somewhere, haha. Plus an update.

Moon Knight and Marvel: So my problem with this show- the fact that the series would have interested me more if it had been a realistic take on a man experiencing DID, without any superpowers or Egyptian gods getting in the way- is actually my problem with several Marvel things that I've seen, which makes me think Marvel just isn't for me. Take the last Marvel show I watched, Daredevil. Blind man practices law? Cool. Blind man practices law AND dishes out vigilante justice using superpowered senses? Mmm... I remember loving the fight choreography and everything, but by a certain point I was just like... I want to get back to the struggling law practice storyline, please. That's something that resonates with me more, since I may not be a lawyer but I COULD be one if I wanted to, while I sure as hell ain't ever going to be a superhero. And the first time I saw a Marvel movie, which was Captain America: Civil War, I had a similar feeling of- why are these characters fighting each other and destroying things when they could be... talking about their problems? It probably wouldn't have made sense for the movie, I don't remember if there was a reason they had come to blows over it, but I do remember thinking the whole time "just TALK to each other!!!" So, yeah, superheroes aren't for me, I just like regular people :'D Actually, this reminds me of another thing I had forgotten to mention- I like that in the show, Marc/Steven having DID was a completely separate thing from being possessed by a god. As in he already had it before he was possessed, and being possessed isn't what caused it. I don't know how it is in the comics, but I'm glad that they went that route instead of having there be any supernatural explanation for his condition, because... again, take Daredevil for an example- Matt Murdock is blind, but what caused him to go blind also caused him to gain super-senses. I'm glad that Moon Knight's powers came only from Konshu and had nothing to do with his mental condition.

(Also, I can't believe I had completely forgotten to mention this, but my favorite line from the show? "WOOHOO! HIPPO!!" I'm not even providing context for that. Just think of it as what I say whenever I see a hippo. Which is to say, yes, I reacted similarly to the one in the show.)

Around the World in 80 Days: I have a lot of thoughts so far that I'll get around to when I finish the series. But watching the series made me want to start reading the book again, so I started it a couple nights ago, and man... Phileas Fogg is so, for lack of a better word, iconic. Of course I remembered that he a Proper British Gentleman, but I had forgotten just HOW extremely obsessed he is with routine and order and punctuality, and so it's wild to me that this man who NEVER breaks from his routine decides to travel around the world in 80 days only because someone makes a wager to him that it can't be done. As far as I remember, there's no hidden motive that ever comes up later in the book, he just basically goes "fuck it, come along, Passepartout!" and then he and his manservant are off on an adventure. I would call him a chaotic neutral but he's such an orderly person by nature that calling anything about him "chaotic" feels wrong. Anyway, I love Phileas Fogg.

The tribute album: I'm honestly so happy with the reaction my Sparks tribute album has gotten?? I figured some of my tumblr friends would reblog it and the discord chat would listen to it and maybe my friends who were involved in it would listen to it and that was that. But one of my Sparks friends shared it on instagram and several people who were following them liked it. My stepmother commented enthusiastically on it, and I also got another lovely comment from a stranger on Youtube who said that it was "beautiful" and they hope Ron & Russell find it (!!!!). One of my peers in the local music scene said "It makes sense that you're obsessed with Sparks!" (he's only seen me like once since I got into Sparks, how did he know??) and even one of my housemates, who I didn't even know was following me on instagram or youtube or soundcloud, greeted me when I came home today with "I didn't know you were a Sparks fan! I used to have all their albums on eight-track!" And more people reblogged and liked it on tumblr than just my friends!! People like this album!!! I'm so happy. It turned out so well!
