Everything is bad but I wrote a fic
Aug. 9th, 2019 05:32 pmI haven't posted much here because most of what I have to say is not exactly pleasant. Personal issues that I'd rather not open up about on the internet.
HOWEVER, there are good things in life. I'm playing a show tonight and hopefully all the people I love (who live in my hometown) will be there. I started watching Good Omens as well as reading it, and I'm enjoying it. And, I finished a fic today for Grand Theft Auto IV (which I watched a playthrough of not long ago). Here is the fic: https://archiveofourown.org/works/20130322/chapters/47689864
I loved the story of GTA IV, but I mostly wrote this fic in order to spotlight a female character whom the fandom doesn't seem to treat well. It's a funny thing- I don't like her too much myself, but I felt the need to take a nuanced look at her character. I swear, I will round up all the flawed and unloved female characters and give them the same treatment. I think it's really important to have flawed characters who are women, because women are held to a higher standard than men, and even if I don't like them personally, I just have to give them their spotlight.
