Jun. 3rd, 2019 11:35 am Time to start making masterposts for my fanfic writing (and for recommending the writings of others) again. Especially now that I've posted three new fics in one day. And now that I have a lot of fics to recommend.

KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE
UPDATED: Born Again, one chapter added. Basically the plot of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but starring Kingsman characters. Currently on hiatus.

"Bubbly." Tally loses her virginity to Zane. Set between Part 1 and Part 2 of the book Pretties.
MAX HEADROOM
A Clockwork Headroom. Re-post of an earlier story. When teenage gangs start terrorizing their city, telejournalist Edison Carter and his controller Theora are quick to unearth the supposed mastermind behind them, a reformed ex-criminal called Alex Burgess. Alex attempts to prove his innocence, but a tragic incident proves that he's not what claims to be. When Alex escapes, the claws come out, and the manhunt is on...
"To the Victor Go the Spoils." After winning a Vidi Award, Edison goes to talk with his fellow journalist Paddy Ashton, knowing that this reward means he'll be moving up in the world, and Paddy's about to fall to the bottom.

RED DEAD REDEMPTION
The Fire in Your Eyes. After Arthur's death, three survivors of the Van der Linde gang- Sadie Adler, Charles Smith, and John Marston- decide that it's impossible to forget and forgive. Three pieces exploring their decision to avenge Arthur, and how they came together again to do so.
"Finding the Plot." Upon avenging his father's death, Jack Marston has nothing left to live for. However, the chance discovery of a book in his father's possessions ignites a creative spark within him, and he eventually seeks out the author, who turns out to be unexpectedly linked to his father's past.
"Loves Me Not." Molly O'Shea struggles to fit in with the Van der Linde gang.
I Never Asked to Be Your Mountain. After his son is born, John Marston struggles with the age-old conflict- to stay by their side and provide for them as he's expected to do, or to run away from a responsibility that he never asked for or wanted?
GRAND THEFT AUTO V
"The Promise." After the events of the story, Michael has every right to be happy- but he isn't. It takes him a while to realize that happiness is entirely within his reach, if he dares to let it in.
"The Perfect Reminder." Trevor lets it slip that the best blowjob he's ever gotten was from a stripper. Michael decides to prove him wrong.
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND
"Dreadful Sorry." A character study of Clementine's life and mentality prior to the events of the film.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Here we go! *rubs hand together excitedly*
"This Reoccurring Evening" by WonderAss is the only fic I've bookmarked with my new account, and for good reason. It's a Red Dead fic involving John coming to terms with all that happened to him over the course of the story, and Abigail providing comfort. It's absolutely cathartic to read, giving John a much-needed release after eveyrthing that happened, and featuring the best Abigail characterization I've read yet. Seriously, I take issue with most portrayals of Abigail, but this right here... this is perfect. I can't think of her in any other way. After finishing RDR2, read this as a post-script.
Marston and Son by sheriffbucky is an amazing AU for Red Dead Redemption (the first one). What if Jack escaped the fate that he and his mother originally suffered in canon- being kidnapped by the Bureau of Investigation- and went on a journey with his father to hunt down the former members of the Van der Linde gang? What follows is some angsty father-son bonding that will surely wrench all the emotions out of you, as it did for me. I wait for an update with bated breath.
Hey, want more angsty Jack Marston fic from sheriffbucky that deals with his complex relationship with his father? "Deadman" is the perfect fic for you!
Or, maybe you want to cry uncontrollably, like almost as much as the character in the fic, and if that's your goal, try "& all the things that i didn't do" by inconocible- a Red Dead fic about the day Arthur discovers that Eliza & Isaac have been killed. Featuring Hosea being a soft father figure, which just kills me, and named after a Milk Carton Kids song (which is a plus).
Four Days by MumblingSage is a work so good that not only did it get me into the Mad Max fandom, but it also finally helped me see the merits in erotic fiction. I used to think erotica was nothing more than porn in print- you read it to get off and for no other reason- but the way that this story is written, tying sexual scenes between Max & Furiosa with wholesome scenes of Max exploring the Citdael and seeing for himself the ways the space has been reclaimed and is growing out of its past influences, all as an underlying metaphor for recovering from pain & trauma... I cannot recommend this enough, just read it. It's beautifully-written to boot.
"Feverish Night" by Daydreamisallihave is a cute Mad Max fic where Nux suffers a night fever while camped out with Max, Furiosa, and the women. Fortunately, Capable is there for him, and they get to know each other better. I think Nux & Capable make an adorable couple, either platonic or romantic, and this fic whetted my appetite for more content featuring them. Plus it's a sickfic, which I always enjoy.
A Broken Wheel by SingleWhiteCatLady is a Mad Max fic that actually uses to Explicit tag for something other than sex- namely, very graphic depictions of surgery, and recovery from appendicitis. Like I said, I love sickfics, but I've never read one that's so long and went into so much detail before. And detail is what this fic needs, as illness and surgery out in the Wasteland is never going to be pleasant. Max's road to recovery is a long, hard one, and I appreciate that the details are not skimped on. The only problem I have with this fic is that it's unfinished.
Wasteland Jukebox by Livia_LeRynn is an exploration of how well-known songs of our era would be passed down and survive in the world of Mad Max. The music nerd in me is screaming at that very sentence.
"Peach Sky" by RafaelaFranzen is a cute, fluffy Kingsman one-shot that feels like a breath of fresh air after the angst of canon and the angst that I so enjoy reading. Its follow-up, "Open Your Eyes," is the angst I so enjoy reading. But more than that, it combines the angst with an underused concept from the film Vanilla Sky, creating a heartbreaking love story about my OTP that mostly takes place within an altered state of consciousness. What's not to love?
The Art of the Game by realityshifts is a fic that I'll rec 'til the day it's completed, as it is one of the best Prisoner fics I've ever read, solely based on two things- the PERFECT dialogue, especially in the case of No. 6, and the suspense that kills me with each chapter. I can't wait to see where it all ends up.
